Go Penguins

I know this is old news but I still find it very interesting:
Go Penguins was a public art event held in Liverpool, Wirral and St Helens, in Merseyside, England, from 22 November 2009 to 10 January 2010. It consisted of over 200 penguin sculptures which were painted and decorated by artists, schools and community groups. The sculptures were displayed throughout these regions. Go Penguins was organised by Wild in Art, who organised the similar project Go Superlambananas during Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture in 2008, in conjunction with Liverpool City Council. Penguins were chosen as the subject of the project as part of Liverpool’s Year of the Environment, linking global warming with winter.<sup>[1]
